Katie Bickell
As any true writer knows, it’s harder — much harder — to “write short” than to write long. Unless, of course, you’ve mastered flash fiction like Katie Bickell. In this workshop, the award-winning author shows you how to craft powerful narratives in 1,000 words, 500 words, even 100! Katie will deconstruct the short fiction format at its most basic level and share her techniques for succinct-but-rich storytelling, in between a few brief writing prompts. Expect to leave the class with a draft piece of flash fiction and a list of markets open to submissions.
Bonus: Submit your prompt-produced 300-words-or-less story to PanU’s contest for a chance to win $100 (contest judged by the instructor and open to registered students only; deadline is April 1/21; submission details to be determined.)
Watch Replay (Alumni Only)On behalf of the author and PanU, a portion of ticket proceeds will be donated to Media Girlfriends Scholarship. We encourage you to financially support the charity here.
