Photography is an incredibly valuable skill for the toolkit of any journalist or creative nonfiction writer. Winner of a 2017 World Press Photo award, Amber Bracken takes you through the ABC’s of photography. Through instruction and hands-on exercises, you’ll get new insight into composition, colour, and light, plus a simplified approach for crafting more beautiful and meaningful images. Find out how concepts you already know as a writer — like draft, structure, active vs passive, reading, and grammar — apply to photography and improve the visual language of reporting.
