Food writer and Gourmand World Cookbook Award winner

Jennifer Cockrall is the author of Food and the City (Prometheus Books, 2010; awarded Dave Greber award for social justice writing), Food Artisans of the Okanagan (TouchWood Editions, 2016; Taste Canada Gold medal in Culinary Narratives), and tawâw: Progressive Indigenous Cuisine (House of Anansi, 2019, co-authored with Shane M. Chartrand; bronze medal World Gourmand Award Best in World in Regional Cuisines category). A graduate of the University of Alberta (Bachelor of Arts) and Simon Fraser University’s Book Publishing Program, Jennifer has decades of magazine experience, writing for such titles as Maclean’s, The Washington Post, and Reader’s Digest, serving as Cottage Life’s western editor, and having stories republished in the 2016 Best Food Writing anthology by Da Capo Press.
